Fire & Hoard-September 1st, 2024

Welcome to September at Dragon’s Hoard!
We’re excited to bring you the latest updates, upcoming events, and special deals happening this month. Whether you’re a seasoned regular or new to the community, there’s something for everyone at Dragon’s Hoard.

Highlights from Last Week

Last week was packed with excitement! Our Magic: The Gathering Sharpie Draft was a huge hit, with players getting creative with their card edits. Congratulations to Slade, who won with a card hilariously edited to say "Target player wins." It was a fun and light-hearted event, though some new rules will be in place for future drafts to keep the challenge alive.

Team Ohana made us proud at Charlie's Collectible Show Lorcana $10,000 weekend, with Luca Serano leading the charge and finishing in an impressive 8th place! The team showed great skill and sportsmanship throughout the weekend.

Spotlight Discussion: Duskmourn MTG Release

Duskmourn awaits, with your greatest fears lurking behind every door. This unique Magic: The Gathering set introduces the terrifying world of Duskmourn: House of Horror, an entire plane contained within a single, ever-shifting house. While we can't answer the mysteries behind the house's existence or its ominous origins, we can prepare you for the new mechanics you'll encounter, such as Rooms and Manifest Dread. Each Room card functions like a split permanent, where you unlock one "door" to gain its abilities, with the option to unlock the second later, deepening your strategic decisions as you navigate this haunted plane.

Another chilling addition is Manifest Dread, which adds an extra layer of suspense by manifesting one of the top two cards of your library face down, leaving your opponent guessing. Will it be a harmless 2/2 creature, or something far more dangerous? These new mechanics, along with others like Survival, Eerie, and Impending, bring the fear factor to new heights. As you prepare for the Duskmourn prerelease, be ready to face the unknown and survive the horrors that await within this eerie plane.

Stay tuned for more updates, and be sure to stop by Dragon’s Hoard to get your hands on this incredible new set when it releases. We’ll be hosting special events to celebrate, so keep an eye on our event calendar.

That wraps up our first newsletter of the month! We’re looking forward to seeing you at the store and at all our exciting events. As always, thank you for being a part of the Dragon’s Hoard community.
